Open Science Day 2022

Slovenska različica >>

At the end of last year, Slovenia adopted the legislation for open science principles in use and the Slovenian Open Science Community was founded. The development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a priority within the European Research Area (ERA), which is why the first Open Science Day event brings together key shareholders: EOSC, European Commission, Slovenian players that create policies, funders and the Slovenian Open Science Community (SSOZ).  The event is part of the tripartite events series endorsed by the European Commission, the EOSC Association and the EOSC Steering Board, which represents member and associated member EU states.

The event will host discussions on ERA’s commitments and begin to pave the way to the harmonized advancement of the Slovenian research area within the context of open science and European guidelines, as well as provide a stepping stone to establishing a network of decision makers, scientists, and service providers. The goal of this is to build an encouraging research environment, which will provide results in line with the FAIR principles.

On 11 October 2022, we will organize the Open Science Day 2022 conference at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana (Mons) hotel. It will represent the Slovenian national tripartite EOSC event. The conference is one of the establishing acts in founding the Slovenian Open Science Community, which strives to evolve and encourage the use of open science in Slovenia.

It is necessary to sign up for the event, which will be organized within the framework of the Arnes annual conference Mreža znanja (Web of Knowledge). The event will also be streamed.
