The Slovenian Open Science Community (SSOZ) is pleased to announce that the Slovenian Open Science Day 2026 will take place on 19 November 2026 at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons hotel as part of The Knowledge Network (Mreža znanja).
The Open Science Day programme, which is part of Slovenia’s National Science Month, will bring together leading national and international experts, policymakers, research support professionals, and members of the academic community at a Tripartite European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) event to discuss how open science is shaping a more transparent, collaborative, and modern research landscape.
The event will provide opportunities to exchange experiences, showcase current initiatives and examples of good practice, and examine future developments in the implementation of open science principles at both the national and European levels. Particular attention will be devoted to supporting the long-term development of sustainable and inclusive research practices.
The programme will be divided into three thematic tracks:

- a track dedicated to open access,
- a track focused on research assessment,
- and a track exploring the new Nodes and the EOSC Federation.
Through keynote presentations and panel discussions, participants will explore topics related to research data management, open scholarly communication, responsible research assessment, and the development of sustainable open science infrastructures. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and international cooperation, the event aims to contribute to a more accessible, transparent, and impactful research ecosystem.

The event is open to researchers, innovation professionals, representatives of research organisations and higher education institutions, and anyone interested in research, innovation and open science.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required as places are limited. Registration is expected to open on 1 October 2026.
