Join us for Open Science Day 2026, taking place on Thursday, 19 November 2026, at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons hotel, as part of the Knowledge Network (Mreža znanja) conference. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. Registration is open until all available places are filled.
This year’s Open Science Day will once again serve as the National Tripartite Event of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The programme will focus on three key topics:
- Diamond Open Access – sustainable scholarly publishing models that are free of charge for both authors and readers.
- Responsible Research Assessment – new approaches to evaluating research outputs and research careers.
- EOSC Federation – practical opportunities for researchers to access and use research infrastructures, data and services.
The event will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, engage in discussions and foster connections among researchers, research support professionals from research and higher education institutions, representatives of research infrastructures, policymakers and other stakeholders in open science.
This year’s Open Science Day will also feature the inaugural Pušnik Awards Ceremony, recognising outstanding contributions to the development of open science in Slovenia. The awards are presented by the Slovenian Open Science Community. The ceremony will take place at the end of the programme and will be open to the professional community. All interested participants are warmly invited to attend. Please note that advance registration is also required for the awards ceremony.
Registration is open until all available places are filled. We encourage you to secure your place early and join the discussions on the future of open science in Slovenia and across Europe!
