Introduction to Managing Research Data According to the Principles of Open Science
Target Users
The course is intended for researchers and doctoral students who wish to learn or refresh their knowledge.
Course Content
- Basics of open science,
- Definition of research data and its types,
- Phases of the research data life cycle,
- FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable),
- Preparation of a Data Management Plan (DMP),
- Trusted repositories and persistent identifiers,
- Preparing metadata,
- Ensuring the openness of research data through repositories in accordance with the principle of »as open as possible, as closed as necessary«,
- Licensing research data.
How to Use the Course
To access the course, log in with your digital identity or username. Although it is recommended to follow the order of the modules, users can explore them in any order they choose; for example, they may begin with the sections on research data management plans and repositories. Additionally, each module includes exercises to check understanding.
